-tion the enclosed copies of a book entitled Britone . Germans in China written by Mr. D. K. Moss of the Firm of Messrs. Aler. Ross & Co. which has conducted the liquidation of the Germanı Firma of Messrs. Meyerink & Co. md Messrs. Siamesen & Co.

Through a misapprehension Mr. Moss's intention

to write on the subject of the Liquidations was not commmicated to this Government. Had this been done I should have asked him to abstain from a task which, as his experience was limited, could not do justice to a wide and interesting subject.

Bach Liquidator is drawing up a report, as his accounts are audited, on his liquidations and these will be sent to

you in due course.
